Los padres auxiliares de Hemingway

The Hemingway Parents Auxiliary (PA) is a volunteer, parent-run nonprofit dedicated to supporting the students and staff of Hemingway STEAM School and strengthening our school community.

How We Do It

Through charitable giving and fundraising, the PA supports educational and recreational programs, technology, school experiences, and facility improvements that benefit Hemingway students and the broader school community.

Throughout the year, the PA raises funds through seasonal fundraisers, including the Hemingway Hustle and Spring Fundraiser, as well as merchandise sales, raffles, Teacher Wish Lists, Fund-A-Need initiatives, and other community-supported giving opportunities. All funds raised are directed back to Hemingway STEAM School and its students, teachers, and community.

Hemingway Parents Auxiliary previously qualified as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The organization has submitted an application to the IRS for retroactive reinstatement of its tax-exempt status, and that application is currently pending.

Contributions made while the reinstatement application is pending may be tax-deductible if the IRS approves the application and reinstates the organization’s tax-exempt status retroactively to include the date of the contribution. Until the IRS issues its determination, tax deductibility cannot be guaranteed.

Donors should retain their donation records and consult their tax advisor regarding the deductibility of their contribution. We will provide an update once the IRS has issued its determination.

Every year brings new opportunities and funding challenges. We focus our efforts around three key areas:

• Community: Building and strengthening the Hemingway STEAM School community, of students, parents, teachers, and alumni, to foster participation and growth, creating a supportive environment for our children’s education.
• Growth: Helping the Middle School develop its own student identity by ensuring our resources and social opportunities grow alongside our students. We aim to create a community that continues to thrive as students progress beyond primary education.
• Support: Our teachers are the heart of the school. We are committed to supporting their needs, from professional development to classroom resources, so they can continue to support our students.
