During the week of October 16-20, 2023 all EHSS 6th graders will travel to the McCall Outdoor Science School (MOSS) for an incredible 5-day experience. Students will stay in bunk cabins on the shore of Payette Lake, while immersing themselves in place-based education in Ponderosa State Park.
There is no cost to students/families to attend this trip. However, the cost (to the school) of the trip is $280/student. Blaine County School District (BCSD) provides $100/student annually for Outdoor Education purposes, and Hemingway STEAM school (with support from funds raised by the PA), covers the additional $180/student. We invite you to make a tax deductible donation to help cover these costs and keep the trip accessible for all students. Thank you!
Please note: This year (2023), the additional cost of a charter bus (needed b/c of the bus driver shortage), will be covered by the Hemingway PA ($4,600) and BCSD ($1,500). All of the funds raised towards the $5,000 campaign goal will go directly towards covering student participation fees.
If you’d like to donate but would prefer not to make an online donation, you can write a check to the Hemingway PA (put MOSS in the memo line) and drop it off at the front office.
